Lincoln’s engineering timeline was originally created for the 2013 Celebration of Engineering event that took place over a busy bank holiday weekend in Lincoln Cathedral. The 16 metre long, 2.4 metre high graphic was unbelievably well received because it drew attention to Lincoln’s rich engineering heritage, spanning centuries.
“It is important to draw attention to Lincoln’s often unsung, rich engineering heritage whilst simultaneously promoting its future. Through celebrating what has been achieved in this city, we can inspire young people to choose an engineering career path. The hope is that this will help the city to build a robust manufacturing economy for the future.”
