Poppy Power

The Optima Schools' Christmas Competition has been running for nine consecutive years and the designs just keep getting better!

We all know that the poppy is not generally associated with Christmas but the Optima team agreed that it was a fitting way to commemorate 100 years since the Great War and to remember all service men and women who have lost their lives in battle since then.

For the ninth consecutive year, Optima have sponsored the Christmas tree at The Collection museum. This year’s competition saw over 200 colourful and creative designs submitted!

The judging took place at The Collection on Wednesday 3rd December. This was an extremely difficult decision as the designs were all of a very high standard. The eventual winner of the competition was Holly Breese (age 5) from Ermine Primary Academy with Arina Arden (Mount Street Academy) and Ruby Sneath (Ermine Primary Academy) being worthy runners up.

Holly received a prize for her fantastic design with an article on the competition to appear in the Lincolnshire Echo and the Lincolnite. You will see all the designs on display at The Collection over the festive period with the winning design sitting proud at the very top.

On behalf of everyone at The Collection and all the team at Optima Graphic Design, we would like to thank all the pupils that took part; the designs were all fantastic.
