The big kick-off

Forget the start of the Premiership football season, this weekend sees the start of the Optima Cup, now in its fourth year.

Last year's winner Naiomi (pictured) is keeping the beautiful trophy until next year, when a new winner will be crowned king or queen.

We take football pretty seriously here; from the Southampton FC (with Optima faces on) calendar Simon made me for my Secret Santa present to the daily dose of FIFA on the PS3 at lunchtime; the Optima Cup is no exception. Gloating or sympathetic emails on a Monday morning are common place. The year before last I was the champion, so hopefully it'll be another year for the girls!
