Schools’ Christmas Competition 2011

Share

I'm dreaming of a white…yes, it's that time of year again and Optima have sponsored the Christmas tree at The Collection for another year.

This year we decided to use traditional paper chains to decorate the tree so we supplied blank card strips (kindly donated by Chameleon Print) to five schools in and around the city. The schools involved were Manor Leas Infant School, Washingborough Primary School, Ermine Community Infant School, Potterhanworth C of E Primary School and Branston C of E Infant School. A staggering 297 individual colourful and creative designs were submitted and the school with the longest paper chain was Branston, which measured 582cm!

The  winner of the competition was Esme Duncan (age 7) from Washingborough Primary School with Faith Hammond-Highfield (Manor Leas Infant School) and Maisie Harrington (Washingborough Primary School) being worthy runners up. Esme has received a prize for her fantastic design with an article on the competition to follow soon in the Lincolnshire Echo. You will see all the designs on display at The Collection over the festive period with the winning design sitting proud at the very top.

On behalf of everyone at The Collection and all the team at Optima Graphic Design, we would like to thank all the pupils that took part; the designs were all fantastic.
