Optima leap-frog 22 places into the Design Week Top 100

Optima Design have leap-frogged 22 places up to the heady heights of 85 in the Design Week Top 100 design agency list. A brilliant endorsement to the whole team at Optima, to the quality of the work they consistently produce day-in-day-out.

27th May 2010. Wow What a day. Optima started the day frantically trying to log into the Design Week Top 100 list online to see how we had faired after six years of trying to break into the top flight. Previously we had achieved a 120th, a 112th, a sickening 101st and last year a very respectable 106th. But this year we were more confident having spent the last two years on more consultancy, web-based projects and pure design work. Whilst our turnover has remained constant our retained value had risen 31%. 2009 was a great year for Optima during a difficult trading climate and the work we put in in 2008 meant we are a leaner, more creative consultancy. All this hard work paid off for us in 2009 and so we sat in front of our computers and clicked onto the site...

We couldn't log-in! Nooooooo!

So we emailed Design Week and nothing.

We waited until 9am and phoned them.

Finger nails were shortening when the message came through.

We had leap-frogged 22 places (their words not ours), 22 places up to the heady heights of 85! As Phil Cosker, at the Hub put it an an email to us later that day, Absolutely Bloody Fantastic! A very, very proud moment for Simon Shaw as the Managing Director of Optima, a brilliant endorsement to the whole team at Optima, to the quality of the work they consistently produce and the hard work they put in day-in-day-out! Fantastic for our clients who trust Optima with their marketing and design work and see the effectiveness of what we do, a real confidence that Optima are a great company to work with. And finally a chance to put Lincoln as a creative city on the map. Never before has a Lincoln design company featured in the Design Week Top 100.

Awesome, we are delighted and chuffed to bits!

So we all had a quick glass of fizz, before we headed off to the Heist awards which Jayne has blogged. We didn't expect to win. Needless to say...BANG. We got another award. Silver in the Best HE Prospectus category. See Jayne's Blog for the full lowdown.

Wow two in one day... Simon bought four strips of raffle tickets, we were on a roll.

Unfortunately we didn't win. We were gutted.

Well not really but we are are going to get a Lottery ticket as things always happen in 3s!
