Oh Mo!... Movember comes to an end 2011
By Simon, Managing Director on 30 November 2011 | Category: Optima 0 comments
This year Optima have again supported Movember with Liam and Simon sprouting facial hair all in the name of raising vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
A couple of weeks in and Liam and Simon realised why the previous team of Matt, Mike, Stuart and Julian had declined this year. But despite the itchiness, strange loks, the comments of "Oh not you too" and "Don't you look like your Dad!", they have soldiered on from a clean shaven standing start right through until 30th November!
For those that don't know about Movember, on Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shave face and then for the rest of the month these Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery.
Mo Sistas are the women who register to support the men in their lives, raising funds by seeking sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.
So if you want to support our Team or just one of us... We appreciate any help through either our "Mo" page (preferred) or to our Team page, or through Just Giving. werealise that the wonderful Children in Need has already happened in Movember and Santa is on his way so don't go crazy… a small gesture will be very gratefully received.
Thank you.
