Mo-ptima

Here at Optima, it is not just about award winning designs, we also take the time to have some fun and more importantly raise money for good causes. This year alone has seen us raise funds for Anthony Nolan Trust, Asthma UK and the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance.

This month, Matt, Julian, Mike and myself will be taking part in Movember.

For those of you that don’t know, Mo is slang for moustache. Combine this with the month of November and yes, you guessed it, you have Movember. 

Movember challenges men (and certain women) to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.

The funds raised through Movember’s UK campaign benefit the The Prostate Cancer Charity (TPCC). Did you know that in the UK one man dies every hour from prostate cancer!
